3D reconstruction of the Velilla de la Reina’s Negrillón

It is a 3D digitalization carried out by means of geoinformatics techniques, which aims to preserve the forest and cultural heritage of León.

The Transboundary Museum of the Iberian Mask of Velilla de la Reina hosted on Friday, November 11, a dissemination day organized by the City Council of Cimanes del Tejar, the School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering (EIAF) and the DRACONES Research Group of the University of León (ULE), which will show the process of data collection, digitization and reconstruction of the famous ‘Negrillón de Velilla de la Reina’, which has been carried out free of charge by researchers and students of the academic institution.

The DRACONES Research Group, located on the Ponferrada Campus, which includes professors from the EIAF of the ULE, has carried out during the last year the digitization of the Negrillón de Velilla de la Reina (Cimanes del Tejar, León), in an initiative promoted by the Fractal Collective and with the collaboration of the City Council of Cimanes del Tejar, which has allowed the 3D reconstruction of the Negrillón using geoinformatics techniques.
